#6 - Consulting From Home – Think About It!
A half-day, multi-level workshop facilitated by:
E. Alana Gowdy, Ph.D., E Squared Consulting, Calgary AB

Consulting from a home-based office is now common in a vast array of professional fields. It has become the cottage industry of the 21st century. In both rural and urban settings across Canada hundreds of thousands of workers make a daily commute around the pot plant. Evaluation has joined the club. The allure of staying indoors when others huddle at bus stops or scrape off windshields cannot be denied. But is it all a bed of frost free roses? Are you sure that the home office is really the optimum choice? Before you leave the rat race behind and retreat to the basement, take an opportunity to consider the situation in all its pros and cons. This workshop will examine the advantages and disadvantages of working from home. The professional, social and financial aspects of home-based consulting will be addressed, using the knowledge of participants and of a presenter with wide experience in evaluation consulting, from offices both inside and outside the home. Find out what is the home-based consultant’s handiest tool!
